Job Summary

Build relationships and develop plans to increase sales and profitability for targeted private water accounts and make purchasing decisions with primary focus in the Central Region. Drive sales by creating, executing and communicating business plans to grow sales for Core & Main. This position requires operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, Core & Main will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Develops and maintains business relationships. Strategically plans customer visits to cultivate relationships, perform presentations, offer innovative programs and communicate plans.
  • Researches, develops and acquires account opportunities. Effectively communicates competitive strengths and develops strategy to acquire competitive business.
  • Develops and executes profitable business plans for managing existing and newly acquired accounts and implements those plans effectively.
  • Supports PWC contractual obligations translating to the field their responsibilities for fulfillment.
  • Collaborates and trains local branches in account management requirements and terms and conditions of established agreements.
  • Partners with sales team and other key corporate personnel to communicate account plans, pricing, and assistance with sales growth goals.
  • Participates in local and national trade associations and conferences as directed.

Nature and Scope

  • Troubleshoots and identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
  • Independently performs assignments with limited instruction. Determines and develops approach to solutions with measurable results expected. Weekly reporting to Director.
  • Project management responsibilities may include planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.

Work Environment

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Remote and/or work from home environment. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Typically requires overnight travel more than 30% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be eighteen years of age and pass Drug Testing
  • Must pass the Background Check
  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable

Education and Experience

  • Generally 8-10 years of experience in the Waterworks industry
  • Proven relationship/sales growth history; ability to become proficient in Mincron, Microsoft Office products, business opportunity analysis and strategic planning.
