Job Summary
Implement developmentally appropriate activities that engage children ages 3-12 in various Recreational, Educational, and Cultural programs.
- Interactively lead, supervise, and provide instruction in various enrichment activities for children, including, but not limited to, Math, Reading, Sciences, Wellness, Sports, and Arts, following daily lesson plans.
- Assist the Camp administration team in setting up daily educational and recreational program activities (daily and weekly lesson plans).
- Adhere to the DCF Licensing Child and Safety Checklist, such as monitoring within sight and sound, transitions tracking, etc.
- Prepare activity materials and lessons each day at least three days in advance.
- Adhere to all activity schedules developed or approved by the Camp Director.
- Follow and implement guidelines for behavior and procedures for maintaining order and classroom management.
- Interactively assist all vendor services that provide instruction in your classroom.
- Assist the Camp administration team with completing paperwork related to accident/incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with children (ages 3-12 years), staff, and parents.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Camp administration team.
Job Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- HS Diploma or GED
- At least one year experience supervising staff and working with children PREFERRED.
- Enjoy working with children.
Required orientation within five days of hire:
- Abusive Head Trauma Video (successfully completed)
- Child Maltreatment Training Video (successfully completed and renewed every two years)
- Mandated Reporter Training (successfully completed and renewed every two years)
- DPI Medication Training Video (successfully completed, demonstrates skill every year, and renewed every four years)
- A Registry Profile linked to the assigned Camp Program
Required trainings within 90 days / three months of hire:
- Current CPR/AED certification (successfully completed and renewed CPR/AED certification
Required trainings within 270 days/ nine months of hire: (Your Registry profile will determine if you need the following trainings.)
- Introduction to the Child Care Profession (successfully completed within 270 days of assuming the position)
- Skills and Strategies for the Child Care Teacher (successfully completed within 270 days of assuming the position)

- Possess quality of patience, flexibility, understanding, acceptance, and care
- Ability to supervise and manage groups of children following developmentally appropriate practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
