Position: Business Development Manager
Location: San Jose, CA (On-site)
Working Hours: 9:00am - 6:00pm
Classified: Exempt, Full-Time, Direct-Hire
Overview:
Our client, a global supplier of advanced materials for electronics and automotive applications, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth initiatives across the U.S. for their Advanced Materials Division.
Working closely with the Sales Manager, this role focuses on specialty adhesives, films, and related high-performance materials used in electronic devices and automotive components. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-oriented professional who thrives in a technical sales environment and is passionate about innovation, cross-cultural collaboration, and strategic market expansion.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to increase revenue, grow market share, and improve profitability in alignment with divisional objectives.
Identify and cultivate new business opportunities across OEMs, EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Suppliers) providers, and distribution partners.
Lead product positioning and "design-in" activities with engineering and design decision-makers at technology centers.
Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term relationship management.
Collaborate with product management, engineering, and global counterparts to define and deliver customer-specific solutions.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, emerging technologies, and new application areas.
Support pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and the execution of long-term agreements.
Coordinate cross-regional business development activities to align with global business goals.
Arrange and coordinate supply chain activities in Asia, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with customer requirements.
Deliver detailed sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and business reports to senior management.
Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and technical conferences to enhance brand presence and gather market intelligence.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within technical materials, electronics, or automotive sectors.
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex accounts and long-cycle sales processes.
Self-starter with strong analytical and project management skills.
Proficient in MS Office.
Willingness to travel 30-50% domestically and internationally.
