Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to support the development and delivery of a cutting-edge visual analytic application. This role involves the design, development, and integration of data systems that power advanced graphics, high-performance computing, and analytical visualization tools for desktop and web-based platforms.

This is a proposal-based position; employment is contingent upon contract award and funding availability.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Develop data analytics capabilities in support of web and desktop-based visual analytic software.

  • Facilitate large-scale analysis of structured and semi-structured relational data using open source, COTS, and GOTS technologies.

  • Design strategies for enterprise database systems and establish standards for operations, programming, and security.

  • Design, construct, and maintain large-scale relational databases.

  • Integrate new systems with existing data warehouse architectures and continuously refine system performance and functionality.

  • Translate raw data into actionable intelligence to support informed decision-making.

  • Lead major technical assignments and provide expert-level guidance across multiple project initiatives.

  • Evaluate performance metrics and recommend major changes to improve outcomes and ensure project success.

  • Potentially supervise junior engineers and technical staff.

Location and Travel Details

This position will be onsite 100% in the Washington, DC area.

Security Clearance and Citizenship Requirements
  • Active Top Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position. You must be eligible for SCI access and a CI Polygraph.

Required For This Opportunity
  • Five (5)+ years of experience in data engineering or a related technical field.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineer, Mathematics, or a related technical field is required. In lieu of a degree, will consider 4 years of additional employment.

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing enterprise database systems.

  • Experience with data integration, transformation, and analysis at scale.

  • Proficiency with structured and semi-structured data processing.

  • Strong understanding of database security, architecture, and optimization techniques.

  • Ability to work independently or lead a team on complex technical assignments.

  • In lieu of experience, relevant certifications or a portfolio of prior work demonstrating equivalent capability may be considered.

  • Active Top Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position. You must be eligible for SCI access and a CI Polygraph.

Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience with technologies such as SQL, Python, Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Experience with data visualization tools and frameworks.

  • Understanding of DoD or Intelligence Community data systems.
