Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Grind Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join them. You will report to the Manufacturing Manager and will have an onsite, 3rd Shift (10:15pm - 6:15am) work schedule. The Grind Manufacturing Engineering Technician works collaboratively with the Operations and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure on-time, quality production and to continue the development and maturing of our production programs in the fabrication shop. This is a technical leadership position, requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures. As a Grind Manufacturing Engineering Technician, you will:
Play a key role in fabricating complex machined parts and sub-assemblies by delivering precise and timely N/C programs and detailed operation sheets that drive production success. Act as a critical reviewer of engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring they align perfectly with manufacturing capabilities while recommending innovative adjustments to boost producibility and efficiency. Collaborate seamlessly across departments and teams to optimize the design and utilization of manufacturing facilities and processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Define and establish standard setup and run times for each operation, ensuring consistency and smooth workflow for assigned parts. Lead and contribute to investigative studies aimed at streamlining manufacturing processes-offering insightful recommendations for new equipment, process enhancements, material selections, and design improvements. Proactively address and resolve non-conformances by implementing effective corrective and preventative measures that tackle method-related challenges head-on. Troubleshoot and solve shop floor issues related to your assigned parts, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining high production standards. Leverage cutting-edge computer systems to develop and refine N/C programs with accuracy and efficiency. Create and maintain comprehensive Operation Sheets and Tool Drawings, keeping documentation current and accessible for production teams. Step in as a valuable team player to support production output when needed, contributing hands-on to meet organizational goals.
To be considered for this role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:
Strong technical knowledge of machining manufacturing, typically acquired through:
An associate degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering and 3 years of related metalworking experience minimum, or Five or more years of related metalworking experience.
Expertise in setup, operation, and troubleshooting of complex CNC machining processes, specifically grind machines. Demonstrated ability to perform production level inspections including Statistical Process Control (SPC). Demonstrated proficiency in Blueprint reading and GD&T. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective solutions. Consistent track record to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range Transparency: Buffalo, NY $33.65-$40.87 Hourly
