About This Role

The primary purpose for this position is to provide administrative support to the Associate Dean in matters of course and curriculum creation and revisions, communications and delivery of all matters related to Graduate Council, assist with guidance in the early stages of program proposals as they relate to Curriculog, and maintain updates to the Graduate Catalog and Graduate Handbook on a regular basis.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Requires a high school diploma and four years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Be proficient in using computers and learning to use software packages specific to the position
  • Experience in using KSIS,Curriculog, and Acalog
  • Experience in maintaining minutes and procedural notes for official meetings
  • General knowledge or proficiency in maintaining Robert's Rules of Order
  • Five years of experience in office/clerical work
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Training in the use of personal computers and office software, general office practices, office administration, mathematics, English grammar.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively work with faculty, staff, students, supervisors, colleagues, and the general public.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in the English language to give and receive instructions and information.
  • Customer service skills are needed to support a service-oriented environment of the Graduate School.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are also necessary in this position.
  • Proficiency in highly developed computer skills using Microsoft Office (including Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint), Internet search engines, Adobe, email and electronic calendars.
  • Ability to determine deadlines, set priorities and meet established timelines.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information and materials.
  • University or academic experience with knowledge of Kansas State University.
