As a Project Technical Engineer in our Grid Quality Solutions team, you'll help deliver cutting-edge technologies that enhance grid stability and efficiency across North America. Based in Raleigh, NC, this hybrid position offers the flexibility to work onsite a minimum of two days per week, with relocation assistance available. How you'll make an impact

  • Lead engineering activities across the full project lifecycle

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for stakeholders

  • Drive innovation and cost-effective solutions in proposals

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contract standards

  • Support commissioning and construction phases

  • Evaluate risks and implement mitigation strategies

  • Develop detailed design documents and technical drawings

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in project engineering

  • Strong knowledge of NEC, ANSI/IEEE, and high-voltage substation design

  • Familiarity with FACTS technologies (STATCOM, SVC, etc.)

  • Experience in EPC project environments

  • Proficiency in BIM/Autodesk Construction Cloud and Revit

  • Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
