Position Title: Scientist - II (Associate)

Work Location: Cambridge, MA 02141

Assignment Duration: 12 months

Work Arrangement: 100% onsite

  • At least 2 years of experience focusing on single cell.
  • We are 100% looking for wet lab expertise on single cell library generation.
  • Cell handling for single cell.
  • Library gene.
  • NGS library prep.
  • 10X Genomics is required, Parse, Scale Bio is nice to have.
  • Bioinformatics is nice to have.
  • Single cell transcriptomic, no spatial experience is required.


Position Summary: Seeking a skilled scientist with expertise in single cell omics data generation and cell handling to support initiatives in the Data, AI, and Genome Sciences department.

  • You will be instrumental in supporting innovative single cell omics workflows and applying advanced single cell assays to enhance discovery and validation processes.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare high-quality cell and nuclei samples for single cell assays.
  • Design and execute large-scale workflows for single cell assays, focusing on cell preparation and library generation across various platforms using automation (e.g., 10X Genomics 3'/5' and Flex assays, Parse, Scale Bio, etc.).
  • Perform library quantification and sequencing of single cell libraries utilizing Illumina platforms (e.g., NovaSeq).
  • Collaborate closely with experimental biologists to address biological inquiries, develop workflow strategies, and formulate experimental plans.
  • Clearly communicate and document assay procedures and workflows for both computational and experimental teams through comprehensive reports and presentations, facilitating efficient analysis and planning.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in single cell technologies, computational techniques, and relevant biological disciplines.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of workflows and experimental results.

    Qualification & Experience:
  • A Master's or Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or a closely related field, complemented by relevant practical experience as outlined below.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of hands-on research experience focused on cell preparation for single cell transcriptomics and multi-omics, including library creation and quality assessment for diverse sample types.
  • Proficiency in using automation tools for library creation and sample processing.
  • A thorough understanding of the data requirements necessary for single cell transcriptomics.
  • A solid background in single cell data analysis is advantageous.
  • Direct experience with various single cell profiling technologies (e.g., 10X Genomics 3'/5' and Flex assays, Parse, Scale Bio, etc.).
  • Experience in cell culture and cell handling.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and analytical expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in analyzing single cell transcriptomic data (preferred).
  • Familiarity with specific biological areas related to immune-mediated or metabolic diseases (preferred).
  • Experience in designing workflows for single cell assays (preferred).
  • A strong publication history in reputable peer-reviewed journals (preferred).
