This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and optimize manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency and quality. Develop and execute production plans to meet delivery schedules. Mentor manufacturing teams, providing guidance and fostering a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and openness, and sharing information to foster unity. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to address manufacturing challenges, balancing day-to-day activities with strategic planning. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and metrics. Monitor production performance and provide regular updates to senior management, demonstrating sound judgment and understanding the impact of team actions on business drivers and adapting to industry changes. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards, and take initiative on opportunities and challenges with urgency and enthusiasm. Manage budget and resource allocation for manufacturing activities. Support new product introductions and scale up production capabilities. Evaluate inputs and criteria to make informed decisions with a focus on decision quality.
Team Focus & Domain Expertise: You will build and manage Surface Coating Facility teams, overseeing hiring, task assignments, and performance reviews to ensure an effective and cohesive workforce. In collaboration with area leadership, you will prioritize work to meet production schedules and organizational objectives. Ensuring that products conform to engineering specifications and quality standards is critical, as is identifying and implementing cost reduction and efficiency improvements. You will work closely with engineering to document, standardize, and refine production processes, as well as to set up new work areas, equipment, and tooling. Facilitating seamless transitions from development to production, you will forecast and address constraints that may impact delivery schedules. Additionally, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and efficiency, promote ongoing training and development for team members, and perform other duties as needed to further support our mission and vision. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, military, or equivalent. 1+ years of experience managing a manufacturing or aerospace team. 5+ years as an individual contributor in manufacturing or aerospace. Direct supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment. Experience with robotic/spray booth equipment and various finishing processes. Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, and work instructions. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment. Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Proven ability to recruit and hire top talent. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience collaborating with diverse, distributed teams. Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset. Willingness to work off-shift, extended hours, overtime, and weekends as required. Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills. Ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces. Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or have U.S. refugee/asylum status. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of supervisory experience in aerospace manufacturing. Bachelor's or higher in aerospace, mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering. Skilled in project scheduling, planning, and controls. Experience with resource-loaded schedules (Primavera P6, Open Plan, MS Project). Experience with large aerospace components. Background in Lean Manufacturing environments.
