Overview of this Position:

The Finance and Business Associate works with other accounting department staff to perform reconciliations, journal entries, and other accounting and finance related work timely and accurately. Primarily responsible for the creation of schedules and workpapers that are directly used in financial statement preparation.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in business-related field (finance or accounting preferred).
  • Must have proficient computer skills in General Ledger systems (Quickbooks or QAD preferred), Word, and Outlook.
  • Must have advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 1-2 years prior work experience in an accounting or finance role preferred.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist with preparing journal entry support, daily cash reporting and bank reconciliations, and month-end schedules (accrual basis).
  • Process raw material invoices.
  • Prepare workpapers for accruals, prepaids, spare parts inventory, etc. to support G/L balances.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system (QAD) and from other departments.
  • Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Roll month end documents in organized and consistent fashion.
  • Filing and other administrative support for the department.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
