Overview
VTG is seeking a Network Engineer to provide support to our Navy Customer located in San Diego, CA.
What will you do?
- Knowledge of virtual machine computing operation
- Administrative level knowledge of Windows, Linus, and VM operating systems and software
- Ability to develop and modify Group Policies
- Ability to develop network switch configurations.
- Knowledge of network protocols used in our systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers.
- Provides SME level technical support and system operations for legacy broadcast equipment and IPTV solutions.
- Responsible for build, configuration, integration, and testing of systems.
- Proficient with various operating systems and computer hardware platforms.
- Proficient with RF and IP based distribution technologies for shipboard broadcast systems.
- Conducts technical evaluation, design and readiness reviews, and quality control.
- Works with users to define existing or new system scope and objectives.
- Creates documentation for modifications and writes operational procedures for systems.
- Tests and verifies documentation for modifications and operational procedures for systems.
- Create training resources, conduct end user training, and make recommendations for enhancement in alignment with Navy Training System Plan (NTSP).
Do you have what it takes?
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology
- Seven (7) or more years of related experience is preferred
- Security +
- CCNA is preferred
- Active Secret Clearance is required.
Pay Range: VTG's estimated starting annual salary range is $70,000 - 120,000, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
