Technical Support Engineer

Saab is seeking a Field Engineer with a technical background in ground-based radar, sensors, electronics, and/or electro-optical systems to join our mission-critical team. This role involves hands-on support of advanced sensor systems, contributing to the maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational readiness of complex technologies used in defense and surveillance environments. This position requires travel on short notice, with assignments that may exceed two weeks. Candidates must be able to work effectively in demanding operational settings.

The ideal candidate will apply professional concepts and problem-solving techniques to resolve issues ranging from routine maintenance to moderately complex system anomalies, all within the framework of defined procedures and standards.

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field and 2+ years of relevant experience OR Associate's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience OR High school diploma or GED and 6+ years of relevant experience OR 6+ years of relevant military experience in radar, sensors, electronics, or electro-optical systems
• Must have U.S. DoD SECRET Clearance or have held one in the last 2 years.
• Must be capable of lifting and removing/replacing components weighing up to 50 pounds.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Ability to independently perform system troubleshooting and maintenance using existing procedures to resolve issues.
• Ability to perform system troubleshooting and maintenance beyond the scope of written procedures.
• Effectively use problem solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Ability to use common diagnostic test equipment such as DMM and oscilloscope.
• Ability to identify degraded system performance and recommend methods for improvement.
