Looking for an opportunity chalk-full of fun and great experiences? The Erie Community Center is currently hiring Climbing Wall Instructors! As a Climbing Wall Instructor, you will perform a variety of duties associated with instructing or leading recreation programs related to the climbing wall that may include but is not limited to:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Knowledge of: To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate leadership and communication skills and must possess knowledge of the principles, practices, trends and methods of recreational operations and programming in a community setting. Knowledge of guidelines and regulations related to Department, Town, County, State, and Federal policies and procedures also required. Skills in: Initiative and decision-making; verbal and written communication; supervision, leadership, and interpersonal relationships; basic financial methods of recreational programming; outstanding customer service to a diverse population; administrative functions; time management, meeting deadlines, responding to internal and external requests in a timely manner; the use of standard office equipment, computers, and various software programs; positive and professional working relationships with all Town staff and the community; conflict resolution; handling controversial issues; comprehending instruction, correspondence, and policies and procedures; problem solving; remaining composed in emergency situations and working effectively under stressful circumstances; performing CPR, First Aid, and AED to level of certification. Environmental Factors: Work is performed in a standard recreational facility environment. Work may involve competing demands and performing multiple tasks. Physical Factors: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and occasionally lift storage boxes and climbing equipment of 20lbs or more.
