Job Title: Senior Accountant Department: Accounting Summary: An employee in this position is primarily responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Responsibilities: As the Senior Accountant you will:
- Responsible for global consolidations and consolidated financial reports.
- Prepare intercompany entries and work closely with all Foreign Entities to reconcile intercompany balances.
- Manage intercompany eliminations and consolidation for 20 entities across nine countries.
- Ensure financial statement integrity with accurate preparation and execution of journal entries, accruals, reclassification, and adjustments.
- Complete all month-end closing tasks on time. Seek to identify issues as early as possible and escalate as needed. Ensure that all journal entries are properly supported and appropriate.
- Prepare account reconciliations in accordance with policy. Focus on having supporting documentation and steady completion of the reconciliation process throughout the month.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements & management reports.
- Support the year-end group audit process.
- Assist with Ad hoc management reports/projects as they arise.
- Work closely with the Global Controller and FP&A team on global reporting.
- Help support standardization of reporting across global subsidiaries.
- Cross Training in other areas of the full accounting process.
- Integrate newly acquired businesses into the consolidation tool.
- Preparation of monthly financial reports for use in board and lender reporting.
- Perform other duties as required to support the organization's goals
Requirements You're a great fit for this position if this describes you:
- Accounting, Finance, or Business bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- CPA or MBA is preferred but not required.
- 5-8 years of experience in accounting. Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Experience working in a multi-currency, global company
- Exceptional in current computer software: MS Applications Word, Excel, and understanding of ERP systems. (Syteline, COUPA, Qlik, and Power BI a plus)
- Experience working in consolidation software such as Hyperion, One Stream or Lucanet
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail, professionalism, and diplomacy in producing error-free documents and interacting with diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple diverse projects, including analytical thinking, planning, prioritizing, problem-solving, decision-making, and carrying out assigned projects with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, while responding to change favorably and quickly.
- Self-starter with the ability to think outside the box
- Able to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
- Willing and able to work extended hours during month-end close and auditing crunch time to support the organization's goals.
- Honor project deadlines and demonstrates a proactive approach to taking responsibility for any errors or challenges.
