Through local research department oversight and coordination, you will produce leading-edge, thought-provoking research and analysis of market insights and trends for use in the production of market reports, presentations, and research projects within the region. Sets a strategic direction for the local research team and manages the day-to-day operations meeting the needs of the local offices and brokers. Responsible for providing supervision, direction, motivation, leadership, training, and coaching to local researchers and ensuring project objectives and timelines are met and adhere to quality standards. Sets the team standards and policies on quality assurance and checks and ensures compliance. Provides timely and reliable statistical information on commercial properties, including, but not limited to, availability and vacancy rates, lease rates, absorption trends, lease and sale comparables, tenant migration, development activity, and economic metrics. Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and producing quarterly and annual market reports adhering to corporate standards. Provides additional reports, articles, and forecast writing on an as-needed basis. Partner with marketing and sales professionals to provide research assistance and client meetings/presentations expertise. Assist with preparing broker opinion of values, lease abstracting and lease/sale analysis. Develop a close working relationship with local media, trade organizations, and government entities to ensure Colliers is recognized as a leading resource on the latest trends, development strategies, and city agendas for those agencies. Act as a resource to brokers and staff involved in special projects requiring compilation of data, i.e., ownership data, zoning, land use, property sales, etc., and provides demographic information in partnership with Colliers GIS Location Intelligence. Collaborate with corporate IT and research/marketing teams to troubleshoot, test upgrades, and/or implement changes to Colliers' proprietary software systems. Responsible for the ongoing assessment, evaluation, and budgeting for existing and prospective research data subscriptions in partnership with regional management. Participate in local office sales/leasing and tenants in the market meetings. Represent local office research staff in regional and national research management calls.
What you'll bring
8+ years of experience in a Research role - With 5+ years in Commercial Real Estate. Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Experience in a supervisory/leadership role. Ability to manage, train, and mentor staff. Strong technology awareness and advanced Microsoft applications experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong communicator and ability to interface and manage senior stakeholder expectations. Possesses superior writing, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
