Description

Summary / Position Purpose:

The Flexo Label Press Lead helps oversee and manage the daily operations of the flexographic label press department, under the direction of the Manager. This role ensures efficient processes, makes for high-quality output and has exceptional customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of flexographic printing processes, the ability to supervise a team of press operators, and has a keen focus on continuous improvement.

Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:



  • Training and mentoring press operators in flexographic printing processes and equipment, as well as ensuring they adhere to best practices and company policies.
  • Following established procedures and best practices for flexographic printing by adhering to the company's guidelines and procedures and employing best practices to ensure high-quality output.
  • Supervising, scheduling, and coordinating daily operations in the flexographic label press department, assigning tasks to press operators, monitoring their progress, as well as coordinating production schedules and workflow.
  • Overseeing quality control to maintain high-quality output by implementing and enforcing quality control procedures and monitoring printed products for quality and consistency.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to flexographic printing processes and equipment, providing technical support to press operators as needed.
  • Collaborating with other departments to meet production deadlines and ensure customer satisfaction, actively participating in cross-departmental meetings and initiatives.
  • Implementing and monitoring safety protocols, enforcing safety guidelines and protocols in the flexographic label press department, and regularly monitoring the work environment for safety hazards, promptly addressing any issues.
  • Continuously evaluating and improving production processes to increase efficiency by analyzing current flexographic label printing processes for efficiency and effectiveness, implementing process improvements, and monitoring the results.
  • Setting up, operating, and maintaining flexographic label printing equipment by preparing it for production runs, operating it during production, and performing routine maintenance as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards by staying informed on the latest updates, as well as ensuring that the company's policies and procedures are in compliance with these regulations and standards.
  • Indirectly and directly responsible for product quality
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred) OR equivalent High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in flexographic printing preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in flexographic label printing, with a focus on management or supervision
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of flexographic label printing processes and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and
