Schmidt Construction part of the Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Milling Equipment Operator/ Ground Personnel to work at our Colorado Springs location in Colorado. The Milling Equipment Operator/ Ground Personnel plays a key role in field operations, working closely with crew members, contractors, and customers. This position is responsible for safely operating skid steer machinery and attachments to assist with job site cleanup, milling, and surface preparation. The operator will also support the crew with general labor duties and operate other heavy equipment as trained. Pay: $25-29 Shift/Schedule: Full Time Day Job w/ Nights and Weekends as needed Benefits Competitive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Prescription, 401(K) with 3% Employer Contribution, Long- and Short-term Disability Tuition Reimbursement for qualified skilled trade programs Student Loan Repayment Program Employee Referral Program Responsibilities The Milling Equipment Operator/ Ground Personnel will: Operates a skid steer safely and efficiently on job sites (e.g., parking lots, highways, streets). Uses attachments such as milling heads, sweepers, and buckets to perform cleanup and surface prep. Smooths and levels milled or prepared surfaces using detail/finishing attachments. Mills around manholes, valves, and tight areas inaccessible by larger machines. Assists milling operations by removing debris, changing teeth, greasing equipment, and flagging hazards. Performs job site cleanup using hand tools (shovels, brooms) to support paving and milling crews. Cleans and properly stores all tools, vehicles, and equipment at the end of each shift. Follows all company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Skills The ideal candidate will have: Basic Mechanical aptitude Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and ability to push, pull, and/or pry Ability to sit, stand or walk for an extended period of time and work in an environment with noise and temperature variations Work outside for an extended period of time and ability to work at elevated heights Ability to read, write and speak English Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle To Apply Please submit a resume.
