Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for tax accounting? Join our team as a Tax Accountant, where you will play a crucial role in analyzing and preparing tax records and reports. Your expertise will ensure compliance and accuracy in our tax filings, contributing to the overall financial health of our organization.

As a Tax Accountant, you will prepare property tax statements using customized software applications and ensure timely payment and mailing of returns, electronically when possible. You will review property tax assessments, work papers, and file appeals when necessary, administering property tax audits effectively.

In addition, you will assist in preparing indirect tax returns, including federal and state excise tax returns on alcoholic beverages, sales and use tax returns, and business tax returns. You will maintain tax calendars and records, conduct or participate in tax research, and communicate with management regarding the status of returns, audits, and appeals.

Maintaining satisfactory attendance and timeliness is essential. You will be responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulatory considerations. If you oversee others, you will ensure their understanding and compliance with these regulations. What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience in accounting reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience, including Excel and Access
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting plus 5 years experience in accounting, public accounting, or general corporate tax reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Master's degree in taxation.
  • CPA is highly desireable.
  • Experience with SAP and/or JD Edwards ERP System.
  • Experience with PTMS property tax software.
  • Experience with RIA/CCH Online Research Software.
  • Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Experience writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public.
  • Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions. Skilled in interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Skilled in performing work that is varied and may be somewhat difficult in character, usually involving limited responsibility, requiring frequent evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity.
  • Understands and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of this field of specialization.

Compensation:
  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $68,700 - $103,100 Annually
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
