Clear Lake, Texas, USA As Site Manager for Clariant's Care Chemicals Business Unit, you will oversee all production and utilities operations at the Clearlake site to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with the highest standards. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will drive operational excellence, support business growth, and build a high-performing team. - Manage all production and utilities operations to meet business, quality, safety, and regulatory objectives.
- Lead and develop high-performing teams focused on operational discipline, continuous improvement, and performance measurement.
- Own and manage site annual operating and capital expenditure (CAPEX) budgets; responsible for product costing and inventory accuracy in SAP.
- Drive site reliability and resolve technical process challenges in batch chemical production.
- Serve as a key member of the CAPEX Steering Committee for the North America region; recommend and support execution of strategic projects.
- Spearhead talent development initiatives, including performance management, training, coaching, and succession planning.
- Promote and lead sustainability efforts and CSRA (Corporate Social Responsibility and Accountability) improvements at the site.
- Lead site emergency management efforts and represent Clariant in external communications with industrial partners and community stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to leadership initiatives across the Care Chemicals Business Unit
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical plant production and management, with a preference for batch chemical processing.
- Proficient technical knowledge of complex chemical production processes; ethylene oxide experience highly desirable.
- Proven leadership skills with experience building, motivating, and developing high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of operational excellence principles, including continuous improvement and performance measurement.
- Budget and CAPEX planning experience; proficiency in SAP preferred.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including community and cross-functional interaction.
