Summary:

The Proposal Material Planner supports the front end of the business by owning material strategy and planning inputs during proposal development. This role ensures that cost, lead time, and supply chain assumptions are accurate and fully coordinated prior to submission.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Implement and maintain the Manufacturing Program Plan (MPP) for proposal efforts
  • Own material availability and lead time analysis for proposal schedules
  • Coordinate engineering BOMs and support handoff to MRP post-award
  • Evaluate award timing and pre-PO status
  • Lead demand loading into MRP for proposal activities
  • Provide consistent, accurate cost and lead-time estimates for buyers and cost team
  • Coordinate with Procurement & Subcontracts ensuring material can be procured and alignment between T&C and requirements.
  • Build sourcing recommendations and manage supplier quote activity during the proposal phase
  • Track BOM completeness and ensure handoff to Operations for execution
  • Coordinate with Value Stream Managers (VSMs), Operations Integration Leads, and Planning for manufacturability feedback
  • Input data into S4 and assist in conversion of sketch routings to formal routings for visibility


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain planning, manufacturing proposals, or material forecasting
  • Strong understanding of BOMs, sourcing methods, and MRP processes
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or S4HANA
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage proposal timelines


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with AS9100, DFARS/FAR, or ITAR compliance
  • Exposure to cost estimating or program capture processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
