Summary:

The Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor collaborates with the Division's leadership team to ensure the highest quality of evidence-based programming while meeting all regulatory and accreditation standards. Serving as a clinical resource, this position utilizes independently licensed counseling and social work skills to conduct psychosocial assessments and deliver graduate-level clinical interventions tailored to the needs of individuals, adolescents, families, and groups.

Responsibilities:

Administrative

1.Provide day-to-day oversight of the operations of the behavioral health department, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.

2.Contribute actively as a key management member by analyzing business operations, financial metrics, industry trends, and strategic objectives.

3.Supervise a team of behavioral health professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure quality care and compliance with regulations.

4.Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations, identifying areas for improvement and providing ongoing training and development opportunities.

5.Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure seamless integration of behavioral health services with overall patient care.

6.Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the quality and efficiency of clinical services.

7.Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, making recommendations for improvements as needed.

8.Serve as a resource for staff regarding clinical best practices, ethical considerations, and relevant regulations.

9.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

10.Act as a liaison between staff, clients, families, and community partners, fostering positive relationships and promoting a collaborative approach to care.

11.Stay abreast of developments in the field of behavioral health and incorporate new knowledge and evidence-based practices into service delivery.

12.Provides program coordination in collaboration with the Division Operations Manager, Service Line Director and Chair of the Department.

13.Travel to offsite locations

Clinical

1.Conducts initial comprehensive patient and family psychosocial assessment, and triages care accordingly.

2.Communicates with staff regarding assessment, treatment/interventions and interdisciplinary care plan through documentation and meetings such as patient rounds.

3.Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide competent care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.

4.Provides case management for assigned patients that involves consultation and collaboration with hospital and community professionals and programs in order to provide the most appropriate and comprehensive care.

5.Consistent use of evidence-based trauma and risk assessment tools and application of crisis intervention skills when indicated and determine formally the need for a referral to the Emergency Department or more suitable community agency.

6.Ethical and timely completion of documentation as expected in the context of the department.

7.Other duties as required in accordance with clinical services assigned to.

Other information:

Technical Expertise

1. Experience working with electronic medical record software, such as EPIC, is preferred.

2. Experience in pediatric mental health settings is required.

3. Experience in the clinical treatment of emotional and behavioral health impairments is required.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

5. Experience providing clinical services through telehealth is preferred.

6. Basic knowledge in interpreting operating dashboards and reports.

Education and Experience

1. Education: Master's degree in social work or clinical Mental Counseling is required.

2. Certification: Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) required. For SUD positions, LCDC II, LCDC III, or LICDC is preferred.

3. Years of relevant experience: 3-5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health settings required.

4. Supervision endorsement from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board preferred.

5. Must meet Akron Children's Hospital Medical Staff Credentialing/Privileging criteria.

6. Years of supervisory experience: 2 years of supervisory or management experience, with a proven track record of leading clinical teams.
