JOB TITLE: Laboratory Technician II or III JOB PURPOSE: The hired person will be one of three virologists providing high quality, and timely diagnostic services for the Virology Section within the Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory. The activity is essential to supporting the health of companion animals, livestock, and wildlife in the state and region. Functions include but are not limited to the following: perform advanced virology diagnostic tests and services and report to appropriate stakeholders, maintaining laboratory equipment, and training/supervising student employees. The position is available at the technician II and III levels. The search process will identify a candidate that fits best with either the II or III level positions. This position has been deemed essential as addressed in the University of Wyoming's Employee Handbook . Employees in essential positions may be required to work during emergency closures and winter closure based on the nature of their job duties and the reasons for the closure. COMPETENCIES:
