GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the close supervision of the SBA Underwriting Manager and/or an SBA Loan Officer and within established policies and department procedures, responsible for preparation of SBA loan underwriting, portfolio servicing, and monitoring, and the following duties:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Assist the SBA underwriting team in financial due diligence and credit analysis of SBA loan requests.
  • Perform cash flow spreading and input financial data into internal loan operation systems and the SBA loan submission platforms
  • Prepare detailed reports, conduct due diligence, and perform credit checks as part of the loan underwriting process to support sound credit decisions.
  • Communicate with internal staff, clients, and third parties (e.g., CPAs, escrow officers, appraisers) to obtain and verify loan-related documentation.
  • Support departmental functions such as internal reporting, data entry, and documentation tracking.
  • Assist with preparation and response to internal audits, external audits, and loan review examinations.
  • Maintain compliance with Bank policies, SBA SOPs, and lending procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.


Experience:



  • At least one year of experience in SBA lending is a plus, particularly in underwriting, operations, or loan closing.
  • Familiarity with SBA loan programs (7a, 504 or express) and understanding of SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


Skills/Ability:



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); working knowledge of loan systems preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

$26.44 - $32.69 / hour
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
