About the role

We are seeking a Director of Engineering, to lead our ceramic deposition pedestal technology development. We are seeking an innovative leader that is driven in the pursuit of technology that will be used by world leading semiconductor customers. Based at our Technology & Development Center in San Jose, California, this role will be part of our In-Chamber semiconductor segment. This role will focus on the technology advancements of deposition and etch based products and thermal systems. The position will provide technical leadership and advancement of our technology and product roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities



  • Drive adoption of new materials: Leading the adoption of in-sourced ceramic materials, and other metals, alloys, composites, in our new product development endeavors. Utilize your expertise to drive innovation and ensure that products remain at the forefront of technological advancement.
  • Support enterprise vision and transformation: Collaborate with senior management and global functional leaders to develop strategies that align with our enterprise vision and drive transformation within our technical organization to better support our customers and business objectives.
  • Support business growth initiatives: Work closely with other functional groups to support our business growth initiatives, ensuring that objectives for advancing technical capability are aligned with business priorities.
  • Engage with ecosystem of semiconductor development: Foster strategic partnerships with customers, suppliers, labs, and universities in support of our R&D activities, driving advancements in the industry and expanding our technical capabilities.
  • Provide technical and financial insights: Provide the organization with technical and financial information on projects, assisting in making appropriate prioritization and portfolio decisions.



Required Qualifications



  • Advanced Engineering degree (MS/PhD) or Bachelor's Engineering degree
  • 10 or more years of related experience in the Materials Science area.
  • Experience working with material suppliers
  • Experience in new product development using new/advance materials
  • Experience leading and managing highly cross-functional teams



Desired Qualifications



  • PhD in ceramics Engineering or Materials Science is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create/foster a leadership environment that is conducive to teamwork and supports a fast-paced, highly visual, and collaborative work environment
  • Experience in leading advanced research programs
  • Semiconductor and/or other high-tech industry experience is preferred
  • Experience in resolving materials related technical issue
