Senior Mechanical Designer

Kratos has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Designer to perform general mechanical design tasks as part of the Engineering Services team for a broad range of electromechanical products. The primary functions are to work with our systems engineers and product development engineers to help plan, conceptualize, and create hardware designs that meet our customeris requirements. Typical hardware requirements will be thermal operation, manufacturability, cost, supply chain, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Designed hardware will be primarily electronics packaging such as 19 rack enclosures and high performance antenna mounted modules.

• 5-10 years of experience working in engineering with a preference for electronic and electromechanical products.
• Experience using SolidWorks or similar CAD tool.
• Understanding of sheet metal, machining, extrusion, and 3D printed fabrication processes.
• Familiarity with worldwide regulatory compliance requirements (EMC, Safety, RoHS).
• Multi-tasking in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
• Ability to interact with all levels of management/personnel, team player who can quickly build rapport and credibility
• Excellent organizational, verbal, facilitation, listening, and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate basic shop tools such as a drill press, metal saw, and various power tools to build/modify prototypes.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Bacheloris degree
• AutoCAD experience

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $90,000-$100,000
