Minimum Qualifications Summary


Certification & Education



  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Possess a current/active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility



Experience Required



  • At least five (5) years' experience planning, researching, developing, coordinating, and managing exercises within NSW or other SOF organizations specific to SDVT operations.
  • At least two (2) years' experience utilizing Exercise Control Group (ECG) management tools such as SharePoint, mIRC, Palintir and Ringtail and other common operating picture applications.



Job Objective

Primary Tasks. Provide Exercise planning subject matter expertise to NSWG-8 and subordinate command exercises.

Responsibilities


  • Be able to operate a Personal Computer (PC) with common/standard business software programs. Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Shall be highly organized and proficient in utilizing computer applications and related automation to support required efforts and product development.
  • Must be able to enter data into multiple databases accurately.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, sufficient to present information or explain complex and technical aspects of research and prepare briefing papers, summaries, narratives or articles.
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking in a high stress, time sensitive environment.
  • Must be capable of effectively coordinating various products with stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work in an environment that is fast paced, completing multiple tasks, and meeting stringent timelines.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively work, individually or as a member of a team, and take the lead on select tasks, as required.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
  • Must be able to grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and ear over telephone.
  • Must be able to lift objects whose weight is not to exceed 50-pounds.
  • Work in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions, unless otherwise specified requirements by position described below.
  • May be required to travel to and between CONUS location(s) and OCONUS i.e., Hawaii, as requested. Specific places of performance and travel requirements identified in specific requirements by position.
  • May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
  • May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
  • May be required to board Maritime vessels and embark during their duties.
  • Assist with planning, research, development, coordination, and exercise management
  • Assist with the development of Battle Rhythm planning and execution of exercise schedule.
  • Assist with script writing of detailed scenarios tailored to current NSWG-8 SDVT operations.
  • Provide exercise developments (with branch and sequel developments) during exercise management.
  • Assist with the completion of realistic and relevant operational products, i.e., Deployment Orders, Task Orders, Warning Orders, Operations Orders, and Frag Orders, etc...
  • Assist with lessons learned and participate in After Action Reviews and discussions:

    • This meeting shall include the Contractor personnel and Government personnel who will be involved with the events. The meetings shall provide the opportunity to discuss technical and security issues as well as management by Government personnel.
    • The After-Action Reviews will aid both the Government and Contractor in achieving a clear and mutual understanding of all requirements and identify and resolve any potential issues.
    • The contractor shall be prepared to discuss any items requiring clarification and gather information as necessary to support each deliverable.
    • The contractor shall provide a written summary of the After-Action Reviews for every exercise NLT two weeks post-exercise.
    • Assist the Training and Readiness Officer in the collection of lessons learned during training, exercises and events.
    • Assist in retrieving lessons learned related to specific issues, best practices and/or deployment locations from various lessons learned libraries and repositories.
    • Create and maintain a document library for routing, review and approval; maintain an archive of AARs, trip reports, and issues.
    • Assist with drafting, editing, formatting and reviewing lessons learned, After Action Reports (AARs), trip reports, issues, policies, instructions, and other written products using NSW, United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Department of the Navy (DON), and Department of Defense (DoD) standards.
    • Assist with disseminating lessons learned to the units based on upcoming deployment and exercise commitments.


  • Assist with the research, coordination and exercise execution for ranges, installations, supporting assets and targets in support of TRIDENT and NSWG-8 exercises located CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Assist with coordinating with various Military/Government Services
  • Provide a monthly status report to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), to include but not limited to project status, on-going efforts, and deficiencies.
  • Maintain the security standards and qualifications required by NSWC to maintain and modify USSOCOM/ NSW Share Point Portal page content.


Education & Certification


  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Statistics is preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification


Security Clearance


  • Possess a current/active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility
