Description
Summary: Provides comprehensive cardiac care under physician supervision. Follows established nursing protocols, delegates to support staff, and evaluates and adjusts patient care. Coordinates diagnostics and treatments, maintains accurate charting, and facilitates referrals and consults. Conducts physical exams, prescribes medications and therapies, and performs specialty procedures as credentialed. Key Responsibilities
- Practice in accordance with Texas Board of Nursing and APN scope of practice.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute, chronic, and preventative cardiac conditions in various care settings.
- Obtain patient histories, perform physical exams, and interpret lab/radiology results.
- Prescribe medications and therapies.
- Provide patient/family education, promote health, and support disease prevention.
- Perform advanced procedures per credentialing guidelines.
- Collaborate and refer with the healthcare team.
- Contribute to research, quality improvement, and professional education.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant medical records.
Qualifications
- Master's in Nursing (required).
- Texas Advanced Practice Nurse license.
- Cardiology, ER, or ICU background/experience preferred.
- CPR certification (AHA).
- NRP certification for South NICU (within 90 days of hire).
- Proven clinical and management experience in cardiology specialty.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer/team-oriented skills.
Work Schedule: Days, M-F, 8-hour shift Work Type: Full Time
