The Maintenance Manager will oversee all physical aspects of the plant including service of electrical and mechanical systems; maintenance of production equipment, physical plant, utilities, grounds, and seasonal housing; and compliance with applicable company, state and/or local policies and regulations. Responsibilities:
- Develops and manages schedules for maintenance employees and coordinates daily work assignments for the maintenance group. Evaluates work to ensure it meets production, quality, and safety requirements.
- Implements and manages a robust preventative maintenance program for all production machinery, equipment, andplant facilities.
- Hires and trains new maintenance staff, and ensures existing staff has up to date training to meet safety standards.
- Oversees and administers discipline for the maintenance group in accordance with company policy and in partnership with human resources.
- Works with maintenance group to ensure compliance with all Seneca and OSHA safety standards.
- Work with Plant Manager and Plant Superintendent to manage departmental budgets, to include UPM and capital projects.
- Work closely with Plant Manager and Plant Superintendent to identify and problem solve maintenance or equipment issues and plan maintenance activities to accommodate production needs where possible.
- Coordinates work to be done by outside contractors and/or vendors and manages various projects to ensure work is done according to production, quality, and safety specifications, to meet deadlines, and ensure projects are within budget.
- Manages the procurement of parts and supplies to maintain inventory to meet seasonal production needs as well as off season rebuild needs and meet annual budgets.
- Ensure maintenance department maintains good housekeeping of work areas, as well as maintenance shops and maintenance storage areas.
- Actively support and participate in SAVES program.
- Other duties as assigned or required by management.
Qualifications:
- Superior leadership and management skills with proven ability to lead and coordinate employees, teams, and departments with different skills and backgrounds with a minimum of 5-10 years of maintenance experience.
- Advanced level mechanical skills, understanding and knowledge and a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in maintenance, previous supervisory or management skills preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations as they pertain to plant operations and maintenance.
- Able to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and delegate tasks, when appropriate, to a maintenance team based on their skills and abilities.
- Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, boilers, and HVAC.
- Mechanical skills and understanding to analyze and problem solve mechanical issues or mechanical performance at a high level.
- Ability to proactively identify issues, understand equipment and actively use a preventative maintenance program to plan work schedules, budgets, and project timelines to meet seasonal production operational needs.
- At a minimum must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Good written and oral communication skills, bilingual speaking (English & Spanish) ability preferred.
- Previous documented training or certifications in advanced mechanical/technical skills beneficial, i.e.: boiler operation, welding, electrical, plumbing/pipe fitting etc.
- Must be able to climb ladders, twist, bend and crawl into awkward spaces, prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking on concrete floors, must be able to lift up to 50lbs at a time, using proper lifting techniques and assistance if greater than 50lbs.
