Position Overview:

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) at the University of Minnesota is seeking a PeopleSoft Administrator to provide support for key business processes across the University of Minnesota. As a member of the PeopleSoft Support & Administration (PSSA) team, this position maintains the stability of the Oracle PeopleSoft ERP system including its integrated enterprise applications.

This position requires the ability to work effectively and efficiently in teams and independently; create and maintain a variety of environments and architectures; adapt to and quickly learn new systems and technologies; and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a close attention to detail and minimal oversight.

Strong interpersonal communication skills are required, including the ability to convey deep technical information to team members consisting of database, software, system administrators, software developers and management, and the ability to convey technical information in general terms that users can understand.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational support for the Oracle PeopleSoft system including performing image updates, quarterly security patching, system upgrades, daily operational support and troubleshooting of complex, escalated issues.
  • Provide technical administration and migration support for PeopleSoft code, objects, and data.
  • Analyze vendor software updates and prepare comparison reports for the developers; plan and manage the migration of the patches/bundles in partnership with developers and business unit administrators.
  • Support and improve efficiency of the PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) lifecycle management process.
  • Serve in an on-call capacity with other PSSA team members.
  • Create internal and external facing standard operating procedures. Document team procedures, flowchart, diagrams.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS and 2 years of related work experience or master's degree.
  • Experience administering PeopleSoft environments including operational support and upgrades/patching.
  • Experience managing enterprise systems across the software stack including OS (Linux, Windows), WebLogic, networking, firewalls, and load balancing.
  • Experience working with Oracle DB for administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with one or more cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, or OCI.
  • Experience with Stat or similar application lifecycle management tools for PeopleSoft environments.
  • Experience with DevOps automation tools such as Ansible, Rundeck, Splunk, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both IT professionals and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., business analysts, end users)

Pay Range: $85,000 - $105,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience
