Qualifications
High school diploma/GED.
One (1) year of experience in public works, traffic control, or a related field.
Must possess a valid state driver's license and obtain a valid Florida CDL B driver's license within ninety (90) days of hire or promotion.
Must obtain and maintain Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic/Temporary Traffic Control and Forklift Operator certification from an approved trainer within six (6) months of hire or promotion.
Must obtain and maintain International Municipal Signals Association Signs and Pavement Markings Technician Level I within two (2) years of hire or promotion.
Must obtain and maintain International Municipal Signals Association Signs Technician Level II or Pavement Markings Technician Level II within one (1) year of obtaining Signs and Pavement Markings Technician Level I.
Key Responsibilities
Assembles, installs, repairs and maintains traffic regulatory signs, devices, markings and legends.
Responsible for the proper placement of road markings and legends to ensure the safe and orderly flow of motorized and non-motorized traffic in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standards.
Monitors City roadways, adjusts or repairs damaged traffic regulatory devices. Installs new devices per work orders or standards.
Maintains existing traffic regulatory devices, markings and legends in compliance with visibility standards.
Performs other related duties as required.
