Syneos Health is currently seeking a mid/senior-level Website Strategist to join our Digital and Social Strategy (DSS) team in a freelance capacity. This team member will guide the strategic planning and execution of website experiences for healthcare client accounts and new business development.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead or support the development of website strategy for client accounts, including recommendations for site architecture, UX/UI, content structure, and performance measurement.
  • Translate business objectives and audience needs into insight-driven, compliant digital experiences in collaboration with Studio (designers, developers, copywriters), account teams, and Digital & Social Strategy.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams-including creative, editorial, paid media-to ensure strategic alignment and smooth execution from planning through launch.
  • Create key website deliverables such as user journeys, sitemaps, wireframes and content plans.
  • Stay current on healthcare digital trends (e.g., role of AI in website strategy), UX best practices, organic traffic growth strategies, accessibility standards (WCAG), and web analytics tools.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to enhance web platforms for scalability, governance, performance, and compliance with privacy and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to new business efforts by shaping proposals and pitches with sharp, strategic thinking.
  • Leverage analytics and third-party tools to derive insights that inform strategic decisions and improve web performance.
  • Foster strong relationships across teams and with clients to ensure strategic alignment and executional excellence.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in digital strategy or website planning, with a strong focus on UX/UI and website architecture. Agency and/or healthcare experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create user-centric website strategies rooted in research, best practices, and data insights.
  • Strong working knowledge of digital design and development processes, though coding skills are not required.
  • Strong understanding of web standards, UX best practices and SEO principles.
  • Strong familiarity with website platforms (e.g., WordPress), wireframing tools (e.g., Figma), and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment in healthcare and ability to support digital experiences that are compliant with MLR/legal requirements.
  • Clear, confident communication skills-able to synthesize complex information and present strategic recommendations in a compelling way to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • A collaborative working style and passion for simplifying the complex in service of better health outcomes.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $110-$120/hr but may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.
