Primary Purpose of Position |
The Director of Salesforce leads the strategic growth and operational excellence of the University's Salesforce ecosystem. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enterprise Applications, the Director of Salesforce is responsible for managing a talented
CRM group, setting the strategic direction for expanding Salesforce across campus, and ensuring the platform effectively supports the University's mission across various departments. This position requires a strong blend of leadership capabilities, technical acumen, project management expertise, and change management skills, with a deep understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem. |
Summary of Position Responsibilities |
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Salesforce strategy aligned with the University's overall goals, identifying opportunities for expansion and optimization across academic and administrative units.
- Provide strategic direction and technical leadership to the CRM group, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across campus to understand their needs and translate them into effective Salesforce solutions.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Salesforce projects, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet stakeholder requirements.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and guidance to the CRM group in designing, implementing, and maintaining Salesforce solutions.

Minimum Education/Experience |
- Bachelor's degree and
- 5+ years' experience with increasing levels of responsibility working with the Salesforce platform, or an
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex Salesforce implementations and integrations.
- Experience with project management methodologies with strong project management skills.
- Deep understanding of Service Cloud and Education Cloud.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience |
- An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, M.Ed., MSIS, Ed.D., or Ph.D.) is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience (5+ years) leading and managing a team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent change management skills and the ability to drive adoption of new technologies and processes.
- Familiarity with Experience Cloud, Agentforce, Data Cloud, Ascend, Mulesoft, and Banner is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Experience working in a higher education environment, particularly at an R1 institution, is preferred.
- Knowledge of FERPA, student data privacy practices, and university governance policies.
