Provide police communications and dispatching, maintains police files and records, and perform a wide variety of complex clerical and typing duties requiring specialized knowledge in the police field.
Essential Duties
Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, determining the level and nature of police assistance required.
Simultaneously running various software applications, such as alarm systems and camera interfaces.
Operate OLETS/CJIS for police department investigations.
Operate phone systems and radio communication.
Document via CAD all activity police department takes action on.
Attend continuing education classes for dispatchers.
Provide service and protection to all TCC students, staff, and structures.
Minimum Qualifications
Obtain and maintain OLETS certification.
One year Law Enforcement Dispatch experience.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Visual and hearing acuity, stamina for extended periods of sitting or standing, and the ability to handle repetitive tasks. Need to be able to type accurately and quickly, use computers, and communicate clearly under pressure.
Ability to work 12 hour shifts in a Dispatch center including but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays.
Require to not currently be under an Internal Affairs Investigation from any duly recognized law enforcement agency for any reason.
Require to not have been convicted of a felony or a crime of moral turpitude.
