Meet the Team

The Cisco AI Software & Platform Group incubates and delivers Generative AI based solutions to reinvent Cisco's existing Products and how customers interact with them. Our Group is also introducing new offerings that help customers roll out Generative AI at scale while doing so responsibly. Ultimately, we are doing so through internal platforms that unlock the benefits of this technology for Cisco teams and partners across our Security, Enterprise Networking, Collaboration, and Splunk portfolios.

Cisco is looking for a highly experienced security-focused DevSecOps practitioner to join a team and improve the security outcomes of its core AI products. In this role as a lead engineer, you will bring your broad background in information security, DevOps practices, software development, and knowledge of compliance, and uplifting the organization's security posture. In specific, you will:

• Drive a shift-left security strategy, ensuring security is baked into every aspect of the SDLC
• Lead compliance efforts by working with internal and external audit teams; providing evidence; ensuring adherence to controls; and being a point person for security assurance
• Be a liaison with the central information security team, bridging the security gap with the product teams
• Create and maintain a risk register within the organization, providing guidance on a risk-based approach to decision making for the leadership team

• Bachelors + 12 years of related experience, or Masters + 8 years of related experience, or PhD + 5 years of related experience
• Hands-on expertise with shift-left security, including integration of security tooling such as SAST and DAST in CI pipelines. Knowledge of Prisma Cloud, Wiz, or similar CNAPP tools is required
• Experience in operationalizing vulnerability management; setting and meeting SLAs based on severity and exceptions; and helping software developers reduce the friction in solving vulnerabilities
• Previous success in the rollout of CADR, XDR, CWPP, or similar approaches to defending runtime workloads
• Deep understanding of AWS, GCP, and/or Azure
• Ability to produce and secure Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform and Helm

• CISSP or other ISC2 certification strongly preferred
• Expertise with Jenkins, GitLab, and GitHubKnowledge of common AI tools and models, such as Bedrock, Ollama, and Claude
• Experience with MCP and other methods for directly securing AI workloads
