Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance

The ADA Accommodations Specialist will work directly with colleagues, leaders, and Human Resources in the management of colleagues' accommodation requests. The Specialist will oversee and coordinate the accommodation process as well as participating in and documenting the interactive process. Acting as a subject matter expert, the Specialist will serve as a resource to leaders and human resource business partners, escalating as needed. The Specialist, in partnership with Legal, will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, surrounding colleagues and candidates with disabilities, including FMLA, ADA, and ADAAA.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of policies, procedures, and physical spaces to ensure compliance with ADA regulations.
  • Manages accommodation case including initial review of medical, interactive process, accommodation implementation and documentation.
  • Facilitates the interactive process, including conducting initial employee interviews and coordinating information and documentation requests with colleagues' providers.
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues and leadership on ADA-related best practices and legal obligations.
  • Provides guidance to managers and departments on ADA compliance, reasonable accommodations, and best practices.
  • Engages in the interactive process with leaders and colleagues who return from leave with workplace accommodations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for ADA-related concerns, complaints, and inquiries.
  • Maintain records of ADA compliance efforts, accommodation requests, and resolutions.
  • Stay up to date on changes in ADA regulations and related legislation, advising leadership on necessary adjustments.
  • Support investigations related to ADA complaints and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Disability Studies, Human Resources, Psychology, Legal Studies) or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years experience in ADA compliance, accessibility planning, human resources, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other relevant laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Experience working in a multi-state and multi-site organization.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities and advocacy groups is desirable.
  • ADA - State Accessibility Requirement Certification Preferred

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $53521.00 and $96736.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
