Position Summary Under the supervision of the manager of institutional communication, design and develop University publications to create a unified image for the internal and external public.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with University faculty, staff, and representatives to develop publications, including brochures, posters, advertisements, flyers, tickets, newsletters, envelopes, magazine covers, newspaper ads, social media, and web pages.
- Work with the manager of institutional communication in the publication creation process, which may include design, copywriting, text editing, layout design, and photography choice.
- Manage publications through the project management process from the initial requested design to final production.
- Maintain files for reference.
- Communicate with internal and external printers to ensure publications are printed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Participate in departmental strategic planning and project planning.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in graphic art, industrial art, commercial art, or a closely related discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including a good working knowledge of Adobe InDesign.
- Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of printing and duplicating procedures
- Awareness of University graphics standards and branding guidelines
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment as well as independently.
- Efficient time management and organizational skills
- Capacity to exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.

Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
- Work is performed during normal hours but may include evening and weekend hours
- Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a consistent amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
