How you will make history here...

This position will be responsible for site plant duties associated with direct ingredients and packaging order/inventory management and for indirect purchases and vendor management through SAP and Ariba.

For Direct Materials: Will actively track incoming shipments, check invoice statements, and elevate any material shortages or delivery issues to the Central Requisitioners. To meet short-term production changes, will partner with Central Requisitioners to manage material to resolution by looking at the internal plant network for available inventory at other locations. When issues of vendor non-conformance arise, will address the situation with local vendor representative, assist in resolution (e.g. disposition, gathering material evaluations), and elevate repeated incidences to Corporate Buyers. Will maintain vendor relations by chairing Quality & Business Reviews (QBRs) as needed, leading local supplier collaboration efforts, and conducting vendor site visits when issues arise. Along with the Central Requisitioners, will run daily red light reports, monitor plant metrics (e.g. inventory, Days of Coverage, slow-moving,
blocked, expired, write-off), and take action to keep these metrics in line. As new product launches or formula changes arise, will ensure adequate material coverage to meet Commercialization objectives through collaboration with Central Requisitioners, corporate buyers, and suppliers. Will contribute to plant enabler opportunities and perform other additional plant-specific duties (e.g. scheduling dock times).

For Indirect Materials: Will possess authorization to issue indirect purchase orders on behalf of the company at an authorization level commensurate with need and experience. Will serve as the plant facilitator for all Vendor Master changes made through the Service Now portal. Will be the plant Power User for Ariba Requistioners and will assist other users in resolving Ariba problems and train new requisitioners in the Ariba system. Will enter certain requisitions for the plant into Ariba. Will approve Ariba purchase requisitions and will enter and manage blanket purchase orders entered through Ariba and/or SAP. Will negotiate supply agreements and service
contracts on behalf of the plant as needed.

What you will do...

25% - Perform daily analysis of raw material supply against demand and manage through supply shortages through engagement of
suppliers, transportation partners, corporate buyers and/or the Centralized Requistioner network. Must know how to assess a shortage
situation and determine which "levers" to pull to deliver a resolution.
10% - Indirect activities as Ariba Power User
10% - Resolution of unpaid invoice blockages
10% - Partner with Central Requisitioners to co-manage material delivery in support of new product launches and transitions
10% - Execute interplant orders to optimize inventory and cover short-term production changes as necessary
10% - Company Store supervisor
10% - Safety system management
5% - Act as the procurement lead in supplier non-conformance resolution
5% - Lead supplier local collaboration efforts
5% - Report and analyze plant raw material metrics, taking necessary action to keep metrics on track

  • Provide direction to Central Requisitioners as necessary to manage storage space constraints. Take action to redeploy raw material when inbound orders cannot be curtailed.
  • Comprehend SAP's MRP functionality, including inventory levels, production requirements, and red lights.
  • Interface with Supplier, Ops, Quality, and Central Requisitioner to resolve quality issues.
  • Work closely with cross-functional groups (including remote locations).
  • Work in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and other data systems.
  • Resolve situations that lead to unpaid supplier invoices through collaboration with requisitioners, Accounts Payable, and Global Procurement.
  • Be on call after hours and some weekends to resolve materials availability issues related to assigned category of responsibility.
  • Sense of urgency and timely action to support production requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table (must have) ...

  • HS Diploma
  • 3 years of experience with procurement related functions

It would be great to have...

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Adept as using MRP and t-codes to query info
  • Capable of learning and using various support systems such as SAP, Ariba, Envision, and/or Optiva.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to create reports

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$57,000-$82,000

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
