Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The primary purpose of Parking Operations and Campus Access Management ( POCAM) is to effectively manage scarce parking and transportation resources for the University community and its visitors. The unit is responsible for planning, development, maintenance, and administration of all parking services, facilities, operations, enforcement, transportation services, policy development and alternative transportation services. The unit conducts planning and design of transportation services and facilitates and infrastructure and is a liaison with other University departments, schools, and colleges and represents the University's transportation policies and interests with local and state agencies.
Position Summary
The position ensures that UNCG's parking decks and related equipment are kept clean. This position also helps to ensure that parking lots receive routine maintenance and are kept safe and operational. This position may provide back-up and support for co-workers in the case of special events or employee absence.
Minimum Qualifications

Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special certification may be required for some of these positions. Special note: this is a generalized representation of positions in this class and is not intended to identify essential functions per ADA. Examples of competencies are typical of the majority of positions, but may not be applicable to all functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Punctuality is important.
  • Valid Driver's License is needed, so a DMV check is necessary.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize.
  • Ability to work extended hours on hard surfaces.
  • Ability to work independently and safely.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
