What does a Syrup Specialist do at Swire Coca-Cola?
Part of a high performing team that is engaged and committed to World Class Manufacturing performance, ensuring that the safety of our people always comes first, while building a team culture of continuous improvement with a focus on zero operational defects and losses. The Syrup Specialist has 24-hour accountability of the syrup manufacturing processes including safety, quality, reliability, productivity, concentrate and raw materials supply and costs. In addition, the incumbent will work closely with the Quality and Production teams to ensure there are robust people management practices, highly capable teams, and space for effective coaching and communication across all shifts. These goals are achieved through; buildingand maintainingplans and standards, developing 24-hour action plans, setting priorities, and allocating resources to eliminate losses i.e., safety, quality, stops, breakdowns and unplanned downtime. The incumbent must ensure collaboration with the Quality leadership team to develop robust and reliable routines and practices.

Job Details:

Schedule: Day Shift (Mon - Fri, OT and weekends as needed)

Responsibilities:



  • Provides 24-hour multiple shift accountability for syrup batching processes and CIP. High priority given to safety, quality, production, delivery, cost, team morale, and capability building in the syrup batching department. Ensures the appropriate metrics are in place, monitored, and communicated for DMS's/ standards owned.
  • Key player on the Quality Structure Team in executing the 90-day plans to eliminate losses using IWS tools and standards.
  • Owns the DMS processes in the syrup area for CL's, CIL's, Changeovers, and Defect Handling.
  • Coaches the use of IPS, UPS, BD card, and IDA tools in driving out losses within the Quality Department focusing on the syrup area.
  • Responsible for ordering HFCS and other raw materials weekly to meet the needs of batching quality syrup for each production line.
  • Develops and communicates syrup batching and labor schedules for the department team. Establishes a plan for the next 24 hours for meeting the needs of each production line.
  • Provides development and coaching to team members to build and maintain a performance driven culture; leads by example.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements:



  • High School Diploma (or GED) required
  • Bachelor's Degree Technical certification or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2-4 years Progressive experience in production, maintenance, and/or quality operations (experience in the syrup room preferred). required
  • 2-4 years Manufacturing experience with Bachelor's degree / technical certification required or
  • 4-6 years Manufacturing Experience with High School diploma/GED required
  • Knowledge of data analytics and appropriate KPI's for measurement of manufacturing systems.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage and respond to issues when needed for a 24/7 operation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Theory of operations for syrup batching & CIP processes.
  • Ability to build capable, engaged, and high-performing teams focusing on the syrup teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage time and balance moving forward on a mix of short term, long term, individual, and group projects.
  • Motivated leader that can inspire others, respect commitments and are able to obtain optimal results from the team through respect and development.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
