Adjunct Instructor, Philosophy

The Humanities Division at Widener University is currently seeking an adjunct instructor of Philosophy for the 2025-26 academic year. A maximum teaching load of 3-3 is constituted by courses in Ethics and Business Ethics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

Essential duties:

• Teach 2-3 courses in Ethics and/or Business Ethics per semester.
• Hold 4 office hours per week (in-person or remote)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education/training and experience required):

Required:

• MA in Philosophy
• Experience teaching Ethics at the university level

Preferred:

• PhD in Philosophy; experience with applied writing pedagogy

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR UNUSUAL HOURS:

• In-person instruction only on campus in Chester, PA
