Hourly Rate: $17- $25 an hour Position Summary: At Children's Aid, we believe that all kids have limitless potential. Our dedicated staff provide comprehensive supports for nearly 50,000 children and families in targeted, under-resourced New York City neighborhoods. We know what it takes to ensure children grow up strong and healthy, and ready to thrive in school and life: excellent education and health care, social-emotional support, and strong, stable families. Children's Aid (CA) summer camp programs operate Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 6:00pm. Schedules will vary depending on the site and age of campers. During program hours, Summer Group Leaders will co-lead students in academic enrichment and social emotional learning activities. The Summer Group Leaders are responsible for the supervision of up to 20 children in either elementary or middle school. The Group Leaders are expected to teach by modeling and demonstrate characteristics from which participants can learn. It is essential that candidates applying for this position enjoy being around school age children, respect them as people, and seek to include them in fun learning activities. The Group Leaders are expected to be punctual, responsible, have a positive attitude and provide encouragement to children. Group leaders work to ensure that children have a fun, engaging and safe summer. Group Leaders are considered mandated reporters. Essential Duties:
