Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Principal Test Technician to join our expanding Polymer Fluid Exposure team. This position works with high temperature/high pressure (HTHP) autoclaves with liquid and gas environments, including high sour conditions. It requires a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hydraulic systems.

As a member of the operations team, the Principal Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department and ensures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Salary: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 yr DOE



Responsibilities

    This position will work with high pressure/high temperature (HTHP) autoclaves operating in liquid and gas conditions.
  • Designs, sets-up and performs a variety of test according to customer specifications and requirements
  • Possess the ability to mentor and train technicians who have less experience through effective communication of technical data
  • Ability to transfer technical knowledge/requirements and successfully satisfy and meet customer specifications


Skills / Qualifications

  • Requires very little supervision and technical input of a Department Manager, Principal Technician, Project Coordinator or Engineer
  • Possesses a recognized scientific or engineering qualification, normally at a Bachelor degree level and/or 8-10 years of significant experience in HTHP testing through which an equivalent level of knowledge has been attained
  • In-depth understanding of testing concepts

  • Requires strong mechanical aptitude

  • Requires experience with hydraulic systems

  • Requires experience with HTHP autoclaves with liquid and gas environments

  • Preferred experience safely working with sour gas environments

Physical Demands:

  • Frequency of required physical force: Daily
  • Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasion
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs periodically
  • Ability to physically apply high torque force
  • Must be able to pass respirator fit test
