Position Objective:

Performs equipment and filter sales requiring a detailed technical knowledge of filtration

equipment. Assists customers in meeting containment and filter needs and assures that units

meet designated specifications. Travels as needed to end users and customer sites.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Receiving requests for quotes and orders by telephone or in writing for all containment
  • and filtration products.
  • Write and compile customer quotes by reviewing and providing drawings,
  • specifications, parts lists etc.
  • Write up orders and check received orders for accuracy and adherence to
  • specifications.
  • Correspond with customers to provide and verify order specifications. May help with the design and selection of the filtration system.
  • Give lead times to customers.
  • Compile order process based on info derived from costing.
  • Educate customer purchasing agents and or the end user about the filter products.
  • Attend technical conferences.
  • Operate the ERPLX system to access product information and customer histories to process orders.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong sales and customer service ability required.
  • Strong computer skills a must.
  • Ability to travel to end users and job sites.
  • Will meet company directive on target margin for specific products. Identify current Go to Market strategy and client contact list, along with providing a quarterly report that allows the business to fully understand the market segment position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

DECISIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Has the authority to assign prices to customer orders based on knowledge of company and customer needs and competitor activity.
  • Decides if projects with quality or performance discrepancies should be returned.
  • Calculates and distributes restock and cancellation charges.
Requirements

Position Requirements:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent; four-year degree preferred;
  2. Basic math skills are necessary to calculate prices and discounts;
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Individual must be able to effectively present information about the product in a manner that will ensure a non-technical audience understands product information and specifications;
  4. Strong sales and customer service ability required;
  5. Management Skills a plus;
  6. Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Computer skills are necessary to be able to type forms and correspondence and to locate information on the ERPLX;
  7. Requires the ability to learn about Flanders Containment Products testing procedures, production methods, quality control standards, and filter applications;
  8. The ability to learn and understand government and military specification requirements;
  9. Ability to gain a technical knowledge of filtration and equipment;
  10. Ability to Travel to end users and job sites.
