Senior Sales and Use Tax Specialist

Hybrid - Buffalo, NY

Moog's Corporate Group is looking for a Senior Sales and Use Tax Specialist to join our team!

You will work a hybrid work schedule at our East Aurora, NY facility, with a collaborative and cohesive team. You will use your skills to build relationships within, and outside, the department to resolve challenges. Join a team that promotes flexibility and growth today!

To be considered for this opportunity, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Typically, a bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field
  • Over four (4) years of related experience in sales and use tax, OR has worked in a shared services environment with a working knowledge of sales and use tax
  • General accounting knowledge
  • Ability to build cross-functional relationships to complete tasks and accomplish goals
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Sales and use tax engine (OneSource or Vertex) experience, preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales and use tax returns, for various states
  • Conduct technical analysis for sales and use tax, providing useful research and interpretation
  • Complete reverse tax audits for various states
  • Process improvement and standardization over multiple ERP systems
  • Work collaboratively with various departments including accounts payable, procurement, accounts receivable and sales/contract administration
  • Reconcile sales and use tax general ledger accounts
  • Prepare resale and exemption certificates, maintaining central repository of forms supplied to vendors
  • Collect, review and maintain customer resale and exemption certificates
  • Use tactful and diplomatic communication to address notices from taxing authorities
  • Serve as point of contact for sales/use tax audits
  • Efficiently address internal inquiries related to purchase taxability
  • Perform project leadership responsibilities for future site-by-site tax engine SAP implementation

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $90,000.00-$125,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
