This position works within a group consisting of two to five people during any given shift. The operator will be lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, gripping, therefore must have upper body strength and understand proper lifting techniques as well as able to recognize limitations and ask for assistance when needed. May lift up to 50 pounds with assistance as required throughout the shift. Will be standing the entire shift and will also perform clean up duties consisting of sweeping, picking up scrap foam, and making sure the area is kept clean at all times. Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and follow safety policies that are site specific and within industry standards. Must be physically fit to work in area specific environment and pass drug testing as required by employer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Ensures with the aid of the Looper Supervisor that production needs are met to ensure on time deliveries for customers, 2. Coordinates with the Looper crew to process all rolls to customer specification 3. Maintains accurate record keeping 4. Communicates professionally, effectively, and courteously with managers, supervisors, customers, vendors, and other employees. 5. Makes sound decisions, anticipates and adapts to changing production needs, and resolves quality problems 6. Meets and Follows company standards and policies including but no limited to safety and quality 7. Performs duties safely, efficiently, and in the best interest of the company 8. All materials, equipment procedures, and training associated with this position and department are deemed "Confidential and Proprietary Information." Misuse or removal from the premises without proper authorization from the Plant Manager may result in termination and liability exposure. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform this position successfully. * Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and 1-2 years related experience or equivalent. * Language Skills: Strong communication skills are required with a good command of the English language and the ability to read, write, and comprehend information, reports, instruction, and correspondence. * Mathematical Skill: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, as well as the accurate reading of a tape measure * Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed or oral instructions. This may include decision making, compiling information, and analyzing information along with the ability to problem solve involving some concrete variable in standardized and emergency situations. Certifications required (provided by company): * Forklift License (Flexible Foam), as needed Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel; or grip objects, stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; stoop; crouch or work in cramped or awkward positions; repetitive motions. This person may regularly lift and/or move ten to fifty pounds. Occasionally may move up to 100 lbs with the assistance of a flat cart or other employee. This position requires the wearing of Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) consisting of eye protection while on the production floor. Work Environment: The environment characteristics describe here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to average factory conditions consisting of moving mechanical parts, regularly exposed to noise levels in the work environment which are low to moderate, and exposed to temperature ranging from moderate to high depending on the time of year and location of the work being done. |
