Quality Systems Technology Lead

The Opportunity:

Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Quality Systems Technology Lead to optimize our Nusil quality organization and lead our strategic initiative towards digitization. This Carpinteria, CA role is full-time, on-site.

What we are looking for

Minimum Education Requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science/ computer engineering, or related area of study.

Travel:

* Up to 20%

Required Experience (5+ yrs):

• Installation, modification and minor repairs to computer hardware and software systems.
• Analytical instrument communication, acquisition, and application (Agilent GC/GCMS/GPC/HPLC systems) preferred.
• Quality software applications (IE: Agile, SAP QM).
• Facilitating change activities for organizations, ensuring adoption of hardware and software systems.
• Cross-functional leadership while working across boundaries and environments.
• Analyzing complicated issues, identifying relevant points, developing action plans and executing for results

Preferred Experience:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
• Utilizing service mindset in deployment of a can-do attitude that enforces and assertively explains limitations for software and hardware.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Communicating technical information in an accessible manner to non-technical employees.
• A process improvement and growth mindset.
• Software maintenance and testing capability.
• Vendor relations.
• Working with general data integrity policies (backing up data, file transfer protocols, raw data storage and retention).
• Networking principles and operating systems.
• Management skills that drive influence and execution across large organizations.

NuSil a division of Avantor has set the global standard in medical- and space-grade silicone technology, while developing healthcare and advanced technologies devices and platforms. The Quality Systems Technology Lead role will support all NuSil facilities to implement and manage software and hardware technologies to improve NuSil quality.

Driven by a strong work ethic with ability to manage and prioritize a diverse mix of issues, responsibilities, and challenges the successful candidate will work as a SME while:

* Being creative and intellectually curious demonstrating strong conceptual thinking skills.

• Utilizing business level communication, both verbal and written, to engage, influence and achieve buy-in from all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

• Liaise NuSil Quality, information technology and business unit
• Demonstrating key leadership traits including integrity, adaptability, vision, judgment, courage, and passion.
• Utilizing a high degree of awareness and sensitivity to a diverse work environment.
• Planning, prioritizing, facilitating, and ensuring sustainment of quality-related software and hardware.
• Gathering data to identify and evaluate technical purchasing options.
• Evaluating vendor-supplied software by studying user objectives and testing software compatibility with existing hardware and programs.
• Consulting with users to determine appropriate hardware and software needs and assist in placing orders.
• Confirming program objectives and specifications by testing new programs, comparing them with established standards, and making modifications.
• Maximizing computer systems capabilities by studying technical applications and making recommendations.
• Ensuring effective sustainment of results, supporting problem solving as needed to close gaps in sustaining new software and hardware installations.
• Integrating, digitizing and deploying software and hardware
• Training users on new software
• Maintaining system capability by testing computer components.
• Carrying out software and database performance tuning.

• Documenting hardware and software updates.
• Keeping up to date on technical advancements by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies.
• Preparing reference material for users by drafting work instructions.
• Working as quality technology liaison
• Working in conjunction with Information Systems /Information Technology and NuSil Quality leadership and Quality teams to develop appropriate support to the enterprise technology priorities and roadmap.
• Supporting/facilitating the execution and sustainment of quality technology strategy.
• Team orientation with highly developed cross-functional management skills.
