Basic Function
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Business Communications Advisor to lead and implement communication strategies for our Circular and Low Carbon Solutions (CLCS) business in North America. This role is crucial for promoting LYB's leadership in sustainable solutions, enhancing brand awareness, supporting lead generation, and building trust with key stakeholders through diverse communication channels. Roles & Responsibilities
This position is responsible for developing and executing effective communication content and plans for the CLCS business unit in North America to key stakeholders. You will create and deliver various communication materials and content, including marketing and external communications such as social media, advertisements, press releases, marketing collateral, and videos for different channels and audiences. You will also assist in planning and developing communications to trade shows, events, conferences, etc. It is essential to have excellent external communication and writing skills, be able to craft clear, concise, and persuasive messages, be adaptable and flexible in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders. This position is part of the Sustainability & Corporate Affairs (S&CA) team and will report to the Manager, CLCS Business Communications. Develop and execute clear, concise, and persuasive communications content for CLCS business, including press releases, articles, talking points, key messages, presentations, and videos. Support communication plans and content for joint ventures, acquisitions, and advancements in recycling technologies. Assist in developing and implementing communication plans to promote awareness and generate leads for our circular and low carbon portfolio through targeted events, conferences, tradeshows, webinars, and a robust media and social media presence. Create effective messaging for marketing literature, product advertisements, and other customer-facing materials. Collaborate with creative services to develop digital content, video, and graphic design. Communicate and collaborate regularly with the CLCS team to ensure communications alignment and support and to leverage and share communications materials and best practices. Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to ensure the content and plan are aligned with the global CLCS communications strategy. Develop materials and other content to support Business communication plans, including digital content for websites, email marketing campaigns, and social media efforts. Assist key tradeshows, conferences, events, and webinar activities, including identifying opportunities and advice on messaging and developing materials as necessary. Draft and proofread communication materials and enhance presentations intended for mass audience consumption (webinars, conferences, press releases, and more). Collect and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across tactics. Assist with projects from start to finish with client and cross-departmental interaction. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Skilled in external and marketing communication and content development. Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to be detail-oriented and set priorities to meet deadlines. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and manage sensitive materials. Command of AP Style with strong and efficient writing skills across digital and print platforms. Ability to translate technical and complex information to the appropriate audience with simple, clear, and concise writing. Exceptional judgment; ability to think strategically and tactically under pressure, constantly adjusting priorities as circumstances change. Skilled in working with little direction, knowing the goals and performing self-directed research. Proven ability to produce copy that engages, builds relationships and encourages taking action. Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, including ability to engender trust, respect and confidence. Assess and keep abreast of emerging best practices in communication, including competitor research to determine the latest trends and strategies.
Min. Qualifications
8+ years of related experience. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field. Excellent English writing/editing capabilities. Experience in producing written communications for various platforms. Experience in developing and implementing key communications tactics. Experience in writing press releases. Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Illustrator, SharePoint, and Brandfolder. Entrepreneurial attitude, motivated, independent worker. Familiarity with the creative development process. Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor. Some travel may be required. Knowledge of the field of circularity is preferred.
