As an MRO Buyer / Technician, you'll play a crucial role in sourcing, managing materials, and ensuring the timely delivery of products to keep operations running smoothly. You'll have the opportunity to develop strong vendor relationships and make a direct impact on the efficiency of our operations, all within a team that values innovation and continuous improvement. The opportunity:
Initiate and manage the RFQ (Request for Quotes) process, ensuring timely receipt of quotes from vendors. Source materials from preferred vendors and develop/maintain strong vendor relationships. Update requisitions with delivery dates, lead times, and relevant notes to communicate material status. Process and manage Purchase Orders (POs), including obtaining PO acknowledgments and updating delivery information. Monitor open POs to ensure on-time deliveries, escalating potential issues as necessary. Utilize MRP systems to procure materials while maintaining quality and delivery expectations. Track in-transit materials and address any potential delivery issues. Execute Return-to-Vendor requests, managing credit memos and replacement materials as needed. Resolve blocked/parked invoices and non-conformances, coordinating with internal and external partners. Collaborate with other departments to maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure customer satisfaction. Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts, parts staging for PM activities, and Kanban program maintenance. Perform routine clerical duties such as data entry and customer assistance, while organizing and maintaining master data.
Who you are:
Associates degree preferred or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 2 years' experience in buying/planning aspects of an integrated ERP environment, preferably with SAP. Minimum 2 years' experience in Purchasing and Vendor Management. Minimum 1 year experience in Parts Maintenance, Warehouse or GMP regulated environment Supply Chain or Material Management experience, with spare parts APICS training / experience or Certification a plus. Ability to meet visual requirements. Prior experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing environment. Prior training in chemicals/powder handling/ dispensing, and good laboratory methods/practices preferred. Demonstrate knowledge of standard concepts and practices in Purchasing. Demonstrate knowledge of various MRP types and impact to inventory level
Work Environment / Physical Demands
May climb upwards to 6 flights of stairs a day to maneuver within the manufacturing facility. Lift up to 40lbs may be required. Environment may require gowning in the form of hospital scrubs, bunny suits, gloves and steel toe boots be worn. Exposure to level 1 chemicals. Operate a forklift, electric pallet truck and other material handling equipment. Ability to meet DEA requirements for controlled materials exemption certification
Relocation benefits are not available for this posting Pay transparency The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oceanside is 56,100.00- 104,100.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
