About This Role

The Carl R. Ice College of Engineering is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Budget/Fiscal Officer II. This full-time, 12-month administrative role reports directly to the Dean and plays a key leadership role in the college's financial and operational management.

The Budget/Fiscal Officer II is responsible for overseeing the business and administrative functions of the college, including budget planning, best practices, and execution across eight academic departments and multiple research units. The role coordinates personnel matters, ensures compliance with financial and human resource policies, and contributes to the development of administrative procedures that promote consistency and efficiency across the college. This position directly supervises two positions and has oversight of shared services within the departments.

As a member of the Engineering Executive Committee, the incumbent collaborates with college leadership to support effective and efficient operations.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Eight years of relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or related field
  • Master's degree
  • Working knowledge of university budgets and complex budget procedures
  • Ten years' experience in financial budget management
  • Thorough understanding of government accounting and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with appropriate financial business software


Other Requirements:



  • Knowledge of academic college budgeting and finance, externally sponsored research programs, and working with foundations and non-government agencies


Sponsorship eligibility:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
