County Mental Health Program Specialist 1 (Local Government) - Washington Co MH/ID

The County of Washington Behavioral Health & Developmental Services Department is seeking applicants for the position of Mental Health Program Specialist to serve as our Child and Adolescent Social Service Program (CASSP) Coordinator. In this role, you will perform professional, administrative work involving the review, analysis, evaluation, monitoring, and coordination of the Children and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP) for Washington County. Your focus will include coordination of care for at-risk youth to meet the individualized needs of the child and family. Under the supervision of the Mental Health Program Director, you will fulfill duties and responsibilities necessary to facilitate inter-agency meetings for children or adolescents who are involved in multiple service systems in order to assist in the development of a collaborative service plan, follow-up with team members to assure implementation, and provide ongoing assessment of the effectiveness of the service plan.

Additionally, you will be providing technical assistance to contract and service providers; interpreting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; and providing advice regarding overall policies and program objectives. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Required to work outside of normal scheduled hours (evenings & weekends).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of professional level experience in the field of mental health; and a bachelor's degree; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
